Setting Goals Like Tony Robbins…..

THE POWER OF VISUALIZATION
A lot of people set a goal or several goals and try to achieve these before a certain date. Needless to say a lot of people do not reach their goals. The broken New Year’s resolution is so common that it is scary. Usually the target date is first renewed and then the goal is forgotten completely.
Most people are not able to reach their goals, although some very few are. What is is that makes some people successful while others stay failures?
Most people have goals but not all have a good reason for the goal. This is perhaps the main reason why people fail. They either do not know WHY they want to reach their goal, or the reason is not important enough.
For example say if you have a goal of losing 20 pounds because your spouse would like you to. If you are happy with that little extra fat on your tummy, you will never reach the goal of losing those pounds, and if you do lose them one way or another they will not stay off.
A good reason would instead give you the motivational support you need to stay on track and get you closer towards your goal. Tony Robbins tells us that “All we do is to avoid pain and to achieve pleasure.” We can get the compelling motivational reason if we magnify the pain when not achieving the goal, and magnify the joy of achieving it.
The technique of magnifying the effects is very powerful. Imagine the consequence of achieving your goals, magnify the effect, feel it deep inside. Do the same thing with the pain you will feel if you do not achieve your goals. Visualize the pain that you will be suffering if you do not achieve the goal, and then visualize the tremendous success you will feel when you achieve it!
